Their food is delicious!!!
Fantastic and filling.
best food 🍲 ever, try samplers, my favorite is grand sampler 😍
Excellent food
This food is soooo delicious.
Exceptional Ethiopian cuisine served in an upbeat atmosphere by a friendly, hospitable family (a little niece had just woken up from her afternoon nap near the time we were departing!) Their combination of fragrant spices and flavors is unique in comparison with other food of this type I've eaten over the years. Injera bread is promptly brought to the table, and behind through counter is an ample selection of East African herbs, seasonings and other condiments to take away to our own kitchens, though duplicating any of this restaurant's excellent recipes is futile ---- all the more reason to come again often!
Very nice place feel like home and delicious food.
The food was soooo savory! I actually acquired wine as well as sauce to take house. The proprietors smile is so warm and also inviting as well as the food was remarkable!
Very good food. The staff is very friendly and very willing to answer questions about the food. A very family friendly place, with a nice atmosphere.
We wanted to try Ethiopian food. The ambience was good so we went to this restaurant, but the food was not that good. It tasted too sour and kind of stale food.
best damn Ethiopian food I've ever had in my life. Some of the best food I've ever had. Service was fast and excellent, the lady working was friendly, and extremely kind. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves flavorful, authentic traditional Ethiopian food. Incredibly delicious. The drinks are bomb too.
Excellent food and the service was top notch.
I utilized to function near by as well as obtained weirdly obsessed with ethopian food while pregnant with my little girl. I've eaten at numerous ethopian areas, both in Sacramento and in San Francisco as well as this one is the finest. (Two adults and also 2 children) With plenty of leftovers for later on.
Great food. Very nice service. This is the real deal!
Didn't know anything about Ethiopian food. The food was wonderful. Slowly simmered stews with beef , chicken, lamb or fish (tilapia) in different sauces. I also enjoyed the collards. My enjoyable surprise was being served family style , everything on one large platter, with the "utensils" being large crepe like bread to pick up the food.Good friendly service, modest prices and good quantity.Altogether an enjoyable experience to share with family or friends.
First time having Ethiopian food and really enjoyed it. Had the sampler plate for two and it fed three of us. Definitely going back.
Had an excellent meat sampler meal for 2, for take out. The bread was just right, and the meal was so filling but not too heavy either. The staff is very sweet and sincere as well. It's a very simple place in the same plaza as 24 hour fitness.
This was my first time eating at this restaurant. The owner and son were very enlightening of the new design of the restaurant, He talked about his ancestor from Ethiopian. We talked about different dishes. The food and injera were delicious. The honey wine WOW still could taste the authentic root of the homemade taste from the honey wine. It was a wow experience. I will try another dish soon.
I like Abyssinia! It isn't fine dining, it's a mom and pop shop. Mom mostly runs it. She is friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious. If you enjoy Ethiopian cuisine, this is the filling, satisfying family version. Ethiopian dishes run from mild and flavorful to quite spicey and layered. Abyssinia offers a grand sampler plate for two that will help the uninitiated experience the full spectrum. If you're into family-run authentic cuisine, this restaurant should be on your list to try.
Real tasty habesha food.
Absolutely top notch, tickety-boo with a lovely, gracious hostess.
Great food. The lamb tibbs and doro wot dishes are delicious.
It is really disappointing to be a monthly customer that supports this family members service and then be ignored when they do not prepare the food appropriately. I will take my company elsewhere where I'm not ignored and also just expected to consume food that doesn't come out the same every time.
1st time trying Ethiopian food. I got the vegetarian sampler that says it serves one, it was delicious and I could not finish it, which is rare for me. I tried my dates tilapia dish and it was awesome too.
It was absolutely incredibly delightful. It was clean and airy and pleasant. Most people look for all the bells and whistles but I look for the simple things Like the love and pride one puts into a meal, like your mother would do at home. I love the ambiance, the people who run it and the food was worth two trips in one day. The spices are still running through my taste buds after two hours of relaxing at home. If you like wine, start our with a glad of their honey wine.
Outstanding Food!!! Yummmm....Konjo
I had been coming right here for many years because the vegan food was so tasty! Nevertheless last time I entered the food was flavorless and tasted totally various and also when I said something they didnt do anything. It is actually disappointing to be a regular monthly consumer that supports this household business and also after that be disregarded when they don't prepare the food correctly. I will take my service elsewhere where I'm not neglected as well as simply anticipated to consume food that does not appear the exact same every time.
Wonderful food - the seasonings! Our group had vegetarian combo with 2 helping of yellow lentils instead of hot & spicy item, meat combo, lamb small chunks, Cole slaw salad w/ wonderful lime ? Juice dressing.
Been eating here for a while. The food is delicious, large portions, inexpensive and the family that runs it is super friendly. I'm on my way there right now actually.
A great place and unique exotic dining experience. One of a kind food! Love it & will keep coming back when I am able to!
My initial time below and also it was fantastic! The service was incredible and the food was the finest Ethiopian food I have actually had. I obtained the grand sampler and also everything on it tasted great! Fantastic cost for such big parts. I will certainly be returning. Most definitely suggest!
reminds me of a cafe in chicago i liked to visit.
100% the BEST food in Sacramento! My first visit there was during an event. They went out of their way to include my friends and me and make sure we had a good time!
Very salty. Way too salty to eat. Recommended the restaurant employee/owner not to put too much salt and she was too rude to accept constructive critique. Not recommend!!
Great food, great spirited people. Some of the best habesha food I've ever had and BY FAR the best in Sacramento. The vegetarian buffet is the one!
Food was good. Had better Ethiopian food before though but in general food was good.
Amazing unique food and very friendly staff!
Absolutely delicious food. First time trying Ethiopian food so I didn't know what to expect, but I was delighted. Great service as well.
I love this place, in my opinion. Is the best one in town, The people are lovely the portions are generous and the food is delicious. They are open for take out!
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. My family and I really enjoyed going there and eating. We are already planning on going again with some friends.
This is probably one of my favorite restaurants ever. I used to work near by and got weirdly obsessed with ethopian food while pregnant with my daughter. I've eaten at several ethopian places, both in Sacramento and in San Francisco and this one is the best.
So great!!!! So very, very great. We are so very full and happy.
Went on Saturday night ~7pm. It was not crowded. Service is fast and taste was good. Tried miser wot. It was perfectly spicy.
Awesome food and wonderful people
New experience, loved the food and the owner was super sweet.
Delish!! Had the lamb and warm beet salad and a spiced iced tea.
The Beg Tibs was great. I also had the house Tej which is also known as honey wine. It was pretty much on point. It really tasted like my auntie's Tej
Best Ethiopian food in Sacramento!
I am a big fan of Ethiopian food and this place is the best in Sac and better than many places I have been to in the Bay Area. This is a family run restaurant and the owners are awesome. I visit this place once every couple of months and the food quality is consistent and service is great as well. Must visit!
Probably one of the best Ethiopian restaurants in California, fantastic food and friendly environment. Coffee is pretty good too
Veggie sampler was decent. I've had some pretty good Ethiopian food, so my standards are pretty high. Not sure if I'll return.
